The role is responsible for owning the user research and experience and help technology teams and businesses create an end-to-end digital ecosystem for the B2B Marketplace at Capiter. We are building technology products and services to help our  Retail Merchants, Brand Partners and Wholesale Partners manage the complexities of B2B lead generation, logistics and sales management and reach out to the $50B  market comprising more than 400K+ merchants across Egypt.

This UX Researcher will be responsible for answering the most challenging questions in design. You reveal what users need from our products by conducting primary and secondary research, exploring behaviors' and motivations, evaluating qualitative and quantitative data.

Collaborating and working with teams across different time zones consisting of designers, product managers, engineers, etc., you will help develop features that solve real-world customer problems. Most importantly, you help the UX team understand what makes a user’s experience feel more intuitive, accessible, and even magical.

Key responsibilities:

  • Conduct research using a variety of methods both generative and evaluative, to help us understand how to improve our products and challenge ideas based on evidence

  • Own all aspects of the research projects: Planning, Recruitment, Data Collection, Synthesis, Reporting and Socialising

  • Evangelise research and contribute to the development of strong and innovative research practice across Capiter

  • Ensure team engagement in user research studies, and help Product Managers, Design and Engineering foster a shared understanding of research findings to drive research-informed decision making

  • Share insights across your team in creative ways to help them understand the needs of our customers and users, inform design decisions, and improve the usability of our product

We are looking for someone with

  • Exceptional behavioral data-collection and analysis skills, e.g., designing, conducting, and analysing all kinds of user data as well as familiarity with internet-development technologies and tools

  • The ability to manage ambiguity, work autonomously, multi-task, and collaborate effectively with remote teams in multiple time zones in an agile environment

  • Ability to meet ambitious deadlines and deliver high-quality work on schedule


  • Bring 2+ years of hands-on experience as UX Researcher

  • Have a graduate or postgraduate degree in design / psychology / social sciences / anthropology

  • Be organised, driven, diligent and creative

  • Work with geographically remote teams

  • Be proficient in various qualitative and perhaps some quantitative research methods too: including but not limited to interviews, usability testing, surveys, and concept testing

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of different research methods, and know when to apply each method

  • Be proficient in processing and analysing research results, to generate impactful strategic and tactical recommendations

  • Attention to detail and exceptional written, verbal, and communication skills

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating past work experience (especially UX work) and deliverables (eg: study plans, reports)

Preferred Qualifications ( not mandatory):

  • MBA/MS in Social Science or Cognitive Psychology

  • Retail/E-commerce research experience in a global context
